Creative Portrait Photography
Good Portraits seldom happen all by themselves; even casual-looking shots are often planned. We plan the technical side such as selecting equipment and lighting, and the style of shot down to the setting and the pose and often the subjects clothing and hairstyle.
Some people want a flattering likeness others go for the casual look. Some a specific theme, say an artist who wants a portrait in their studio showing their art work, or an architect in front of their new building, you get the picture after we have established what you are looking for, we will take control of the portrait shot so little is left to chance.
All the elements come into play to achieve what you require such as setting, lighting, props, composition, pose and so on. We set a friendly easygoing atmosphere for you to relax in and we learn as much about you within the time allowed to bring out as much of your personality in the portrait shot.

ACTORS, PERFORMERS & EXTRA’S ::
If you are an actor, dancer, performer or looking for extra’s work. You simply can not get cast or selected with out a headshot portrait photograph. The agent or client will need this photograph to promote you.
CORPORATE & PROFESSIONAL’S ::
When building a strong and compelling brand for yourself, quality professional photographs are essential. Whether you’re a solopreneur or practitioner, an executive or a careerist, your headshot can make a big difference to how you are perceived.
It’s well documented that people make up their minds about each other within the first few seconds of meeting. The way you look, your body language, your tone of voice and your overall presentation comprises a staggering 93% of the criteria people use when they form an opinion about you. This impression tends to stick, no matter what you say or do subsequently. The same can apply to your online identity, including your photograph.
Even the most beautifully crafted layout and copy can be let down by a poor head shot, yet many people make do with home snapshots which do them no justice at all.
A good head shot is an opportunity for you to personalise your website. It helps to build a picture of who you are and establish a connection with your prospective client or employer. If you want to make a terrific first impression, it pays to look your best and to exude warmth and sincerity. It’s an opportunity to visually project your brand attributes: colours, characteristics and quirks that are associated with your brand.

Advice for your photo-shoot
Actors what to bring?
For your headshots, we recommend that you keep your appearance as neutral as possible. Remember, the casting director wants to see the ‘real’ you. Wear something simple and avoid patterned tops and accessories. A black or white t-shirt works best. Your eyes are the most important features on your face, so make sure they are as visible as possible. Get a good nights sleep before you come.

Getting noticed and finding an agent
There are many agents out there, and you will need to get your headshot and CV to as many as possible to get noticed. Casting agents will only spend around 3 seconds looking at your headshot, so make sure you use one that can stop them hold their gaze on you a little longer than normal. Be careful of any agency charging you a joining fee, don’t part with any money. A good agent will want to promote your talent and earn back their fee from work they bring you.
There are many on-line self promotion sites here are a list of some of the best Spotlight, CCP and Starnow. For more acting job listings visit The Stage.
